Over the river and through the woods...

This past weekend the kids and I made a quick trip up to see my parents and a couple of my siblings. Bert was left behind to battle tax season in peace, well 48 hours of peace anyway. My sister, her husband and their three kids (ages 2 and under) plus my brother, his wife and their two boys, (ages 4 and 2) were there along with me and my five (ages 6 and under). And this is only half the family! I have another brother who couldn't be with us, who has three children (ages 4 and under) and another sister who is pregnant with her first little girl, due in April. If you lost count, that will be 14 grandchildren ages 6 and under!!! Only FIVE of which are GIRLS!!! Yep, a weekend at Cookie & Grandy's could wear out even the most seasoned of grandparents (and aunts and uncles too). We have a blast though. I wish we could get together more.

My sister Kelly had her twins back in January, and we've tried to go and see them a few other times, but different obstacles kept us from going. We finally made it up there and enjoyed an entire weekend of snuggling, kissing, playing, slobbering, burping, tickling, and cooing... and not just from these three:

Flash Flood was thrilled to meet his younger cousins, born only two months after him.

Her Highness was thrilled to get in some girl time.

Everyone was thrilled to go hiking or "bear hunting" as the boys called it.
And I'm pretty sure Cookie and Aunt Angie were thrilled to be left behind to babysit the youngest ones that couldn't go with us.

Grandy with only five of his favorite grandboys...

Telling funny stories on the porch...

"Helping" Cookie and Grandy with supper...

Seeing just how many boys it takes to capture a dinosaur...

And learning that all it takes to tame one is a little love...

These are just a few of the fun adventures we experienced this weekend.
We were all worn slap out by the time we got home....

Thank-you Cookie & Grandy for the great weekend. We love you all a bunch and miss you already!

Your weekend looks like it was SO much fun! I love all the pics, but my 2 faves are the one with your Dad and a FEW of his grandsons, and the boys in their little rocking chairs telling jokes! Sweet memories!

I bet your parents slept for a few days after all of you left too! ha!

Family time is the best!
p.s. Tell your sister those babies are beautiful and she looks great!
